Whether you're vegan or not, you can't deny there's been a real shift in the world towards a vegan lifestyle.
More and more companies are going cruelty free (yay!). So many supermarkets are labeling things as vegan to eat. And more of the world is trying to do its bit for the environment.
Typically, there are 3 reasons a person might switch to a vegan lifestyle.
The animals.
Their health.
Or the environment.
The animals.
Their health.
Or the environment.
There are some great documentaries in Netflix of all places. They articulate things in a much better way than I could.
Before I became a vegan. I ate chicken with almost every meal unless their was some fish involved. I loved cheese. Chocolate was my addiction (still is, minus the dairy) and I didn't really think about any of my actions on the world. I thought recycling my cardboard was good enough.
Now, I try to educate people to at least try to understand why I became vegan.
I wouldn't say I'm a huge animal lover, the main reason so many people turn vegan. But at the same time. I don't want to pay other people to torture and kill these beings when there are a million other things I can eat.
I'm not a massive health buff. I am trying to lose weight, yes, and would I like to be fitter, yes! But I can still devour a tub of Ben & Jerrys and a pizza (all vegan of course) So I'm not the healthiest.
The environment is something I'm trying to help more; After watching the likes of Cowspiracy and Forks Over Knives, I don't want to be part of the destruction of the earth through animal agriculture. I am trying to use less plastics and be more conscious of my actions.
So being part of the Vgang to me..... Means trying to do the best I can. Cause the least destruction I possibly can. Hurt the least amount of beings I can. And trying to educate the world that this is the only world we have. We need to help try to keep it going.
